Breakway Policy Strategies was commissioned by Mental Health America (MHA) to analyze coverage of, and access to, services, treatments, and providers needed by people who have behavioral health care needs. This work was supported by Takeda Pharmaceuticals U.S.A. Inc. and Lundbeck U.S. The snapshot of exchange plans examines behaviorial health services coverage in four Bronze and four Silver Exchange plans in nine states, using HMO, PPO, POS, and EPO models.
Now that Republicans will officially control both the House of Representatives and the Senate when the 114th Congress starts in January, it is very likely that over the next year Congress will consider a number of pieces of legislation that would change the Affordable Care Act. The attached paper by Breakaway's President Dean Rosen and Vice President Don Dempsey—both of whom served in senior positions on the staff of several United States Senators—looks at one potential legislative vehicle for accomplishing these revisions to the President's health care law: the budget reconciliation process.
